Music, drawing, words... on the verge of the universe.
Sometimes I climb high above the city
To see all the lights shining there so pretty
And think of the millions of lives going on
At this present moment and those come and gone
And it make me float free
To feel how small my life must be
And it make me float free
To feel how small my life must be
When ever I can I go down to the sea
And wonder at how many miles there must be
And all of the people on all of its shores
At this present moment and those gone before
And it makes me float free
To feel how small my life must be
And it makes me float free...
Sometimes I'm out in the bustling street
Dazzled by all of the faces I see
It strikes me we get lost so soon after birth
But one smile can turn over heaven and earth
And it makes me float free
To feel how small my life must be
And it makes me float free
To feel how small my life must be
And it makes me float free
To feel how small my life must be
And it makes me float free
To feel how small my life must be

Drawing by Wilg, words and music by Lamb
Many years have passed since I wrote this song for Pontebragas (together with my fellow musicians, nay, my friends, nay, my brothers...), so many that to me it's seems I'm living another man's life now. And yet, somehow, I am always the same old Zu - even the nickname has survived. Listen and read, if you like.
Get down just to come and see what is on and then let me know
This town is about to be set on fire will you join our war
More than - I can hope I see / She shares the same pride as me
It's our fight so let's put away our single-minded fears
Get down feel the pace to know what is on look at our row
Right now lust and fun may be what we need to just make a go
More than - I can hope I see / She shares the same light as me
We're all swinging cats put away your single-minded fears
Stealing secrets /
Healing feedbacks
I know that lightning /
I see your eyes are yielding
The stream of your emotions /
The scream of our emotions
No time for wary motions /
No time for wary motions
Get down don't you see what's on /
Check round see we can't go wrong
Rise now time to use the gun /
your chance is to-day tomorrow there's none
Step down or you'll miss your dove /
Cats round gonna die my love
Right now better get your fun /
your chance is to-day tomorrow there's none
Cut down stuck in the mire /
Right now on the borderline
Caught between love and fight
Two fires are swinging me from inside and outside this room
Where now our glances shine
Where now I can hear you whine
Where now the regret is mine
Check round see we can't go wrong but
Let's see where's the pitch in the loo
just the flushing of life and what else could you do
Sometimes it happens: the perfect song comes along with a movie you liked a lot.
At this very moment I'm listening to Puro Teatro sung by La
Lupe. Passionate words of a deeply betrayed lover wrapped in fiercely
impassioned music. The first time I heard it was on the closing scene
of Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown) by Pedro Almodovar. Then I fell in love with it when this song was repeatedly broadcast by Radio Popolare
(that must have been 1997 or so, since my daughter was about one at the
time - I remember I would hold and cuddle her while we danced to it).
Have a go.
